It’s almost St. Patrick’s Day! What does that mean to an Irish American girl like me?
First of all, it means “Irish Fest 2013.” What
is Irish Fest, you ask? It’s the one day of the year I make my friends and
family eat Irish food, prepared by yours truly.
Because of my hectic writing schedule, this year's feast will be simple. Irish stew, colcannon, and Irish soda
bread. Nothing too fancy, but very tasty!
Once our bellies are full, Rome and I usually head down to
the local pub to hear the live music and visit with our friends. Will I wear a
“Kiss me I’m Irish” shirt? *sigh* Probably. Rome can’t seem to pass up buying me every
St. Patrick’s Day shirt he sees, so I’ll have to decide if you should kiss me
because I’m Irish, announce that I’m “Magically Delicious” or tell the world “They’re
Always After Me Lucky Charms.” I’m open to suggestions. :)
Hey! Speaking of Lucky Charms…if you’re getting antsy
waiting for my next release (soon, I promise!), I’ve got a tasty tidbit to tide you over. Devlin, my new short story, will post on Love, Lust and Laptops on March 21st. I've rewritten the leprechaun lore - and I think you'll be pleased. :) Devlin is part of a ten day St. Patrick's Day celebration at Lucky's Bar and Strip Club. If you haven't been following our blog, be sure to check it out. We will be offering our anthology, Lucky's Charms, FREE, for download in early April.
March 21st. Devlin. Don't forget! :)

DeleteThis year, this blog hop has reminded me to look at The Book of Kells, which I love. When I was a kid, we had corned beef and cabbage. That, and staying in the house, are all St. Patrick's Day means to me. Plus, terrible but cheerful decorations.

I don't have any traditions, but I like the green beer.
ReplyDeleteAh yes - it will be everywhere!
DeleteMy favorite part of St. Patrick’s Day is probably, and this is terrible, the cupcakes! That sounds really bad but every year they (“they” being a nationwide bakery type place that makes them and sells them once a year and the name is escaping me right at the moment, sorry about that) make these really great chocolate cupcakes with vanilla buttercream frosting with green decorations and they are just so very good! My other favorite part is catching parades when they come on the TV. It’s usually too darn cold to actually go outside and locate one, but watching them on TV (while eating cupcakes) is always fun. Have a happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone.

I love the irony of a bunch of people saying they are Irish and getting drunk to celebrate a British ex-slave missionary who preached chastity, poverty, and sobriety.

What a great giveaway hop! I have yet to be lucky in love but I'm working on it. My favorite love book is "Outlander" by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie Fraser is amazing and beautiful. I enjoy St. Patty's Day and this year I'm spending it with my best friend. We're going to two Irish Pubs and also some dance clubs. I am also wearing green and am not a fan of getting pinched. I'm not Irish either, but many people think I am because my hair is red, my eyes green and my name is Meghan, but I'm not at all. I won't be telling anybody that, however… let them believe I'm Irish.
